NH Smart Camp 2011-2012
The team building games were a great way to get to know each other better. At the end of the games, we were taught how to pitch a tent but unfortunately, we couldn’t sleep there due to weather problems.
After that we had some games that required a lot of thinking and planning. We were divided into six teams.
We also had several high rope activities. Including the victory jump where we had to climb a very tall tree using ropes and the help of our teammates (who pulled us up), we climbed onto a platform and jumped down. It was very scary at the beginning but was a very good way to overcome our fears and boost our confidence.
Unfortunately, it rained very heavily and we had to put an end to all the fun and games and had to take shelter at the hall. When the teachers/camp directors announced that due to weather problems, we had to sleep in a room in fours instead, some of us were jumping for joy while the rest were blue and sighing. The rest of the time, we were dealing with bug problems and rain. In the night, although Mr. Wesley told us that 11.00 pm was lights out, some of us still were doing things in our room, some of us were even walking outside with our raincoats and flashlights till the crack of dawn. Unfortunately for them, they either got caught or locked out of their rooms. The next day we had to be up and about by 5.30 a.m. for the morning exercises.
After that, we had breakfast and got ready for the trek!!!
We had so much fun in the trek but it was also very tiring. After the trek, we had to pack our things and go homeL!! However, we also had an even crazier time at the bus ride home…

NationalHigh Jakarta School Joins Trend Education 2012
NationalHigh Jakarta School at Edufair 2012!
We kicked off our Edufair 2012 Tour at Puri Indah Mall where we had a week-long booth fixture and a special weekend performance!
Our NH Dancers (Secondary School and JC1 students) jumpstarted the Saturday performance with a hip-hop dance which drew in quite an audience. Gerson's GCrew Juniors (Primary and Secondary students) turn came Sunday when they started off the event!
We had our Monologue winners, Raina and Muskaan (Primary 6 students) perform their winning pieces and our very own White Line Band played for the crowd! Our Secondary 1 student hosts, Sabrina, Megan, Audrey and Nicole did a great job with managing the flow of events!
Our second EduFair event was at Emporium Pluit where we enjoyed performances by our Primary School students.
Our Chinese teachers whole-heartedly supported the performance as we incorporated Chinese songs and poetry into the program.
The Secondary 1 WuShu Team also wowed the audience with their short display!
Even our very own White Line Band performed both English and Mandarin songs!
Our hosts also used both English and Chinese in managing the flow of events. Kudos to Megan, Nicole, Michelle, Michael and Christy for a job well done!
Parents, teachers and staff were all very supportive of our booth and presence in EduFair 2011! It was very heart-warming to see the NH Family support each other in the performances! We have one more mall to tour before we end this year's EduFair circuit. We hope to see you all in Mall Taman Anggrek this coming November!
NationalHigh Jakarta School is performing 12-13 November. See you!

Student Council Elections 2011
The heat is on at NationalHigh!
Student Council Campaigns reached a crescendo with the Election Speeches last Thursday!
Students were encouraged to ask questions to help them decide who to vote for.
They needed all the information as Friday was Elections Day and they had to make up their minds. It was very inspiring to see all the students listening to the speeches and discussing issues and concerns.
On Monday, we will all find out who gets to serve the student body this year. It is our wish and prayer that the elected officials will serve with strength and love.
God bless to all candidates and their supporters.
