From P4M with Love (A Blog Entry by Primary 4 Student Kissa Angjaya)

Our Valentine’s Day activity paid off so well that I could not stop thinking about it. It all started on October when we started to collect money which we gave to our class treasurer, William.

At the end of January, we started making love cards by cutting heart-shaped papers and writing “Happy Valentine’s Day 2011, Love P4M” on them. We also decorated them with markers and colour pencils.

In the beginning of February, we bought Beng-Beng chocolate bars and we made ribbons on the card and stapled both of them onto the Beng-Beng bars. We actually made too many cards so we used the extra cards as decorations along with the Valentine letters we made. We placed these on the wall outside our classroom.

Finally, it was Valentine’s Day! My friends brought the baskets to put the Beng-Beng bars in and decorated it with lovely ribbons. We split up into groups and gave the Beng-Beng bars to all the teachers, security personnel, cleaners, administrative staff members, the canteen people, the school nurse and everyone else who worked in school.

To celebrate our success, we had a Valentine class party which we celebrated with cookies, muffins, cupcakes, candies and chocolates.

The Valentine’s Day activity really paid off because we learned that if we work as a team, everything will be done a lot easier. I wish we could do this again as a class. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kick It! (A Blog Entry by P6 Student & Soccer Player Vitus Acabado)

January 30, 2011 was the date when we played a soccer match against AIS (Australian International School).

The game was intense. There was cheering, shouting and screaming everywhere. When the referee whistled and gave my team the first ball the real intensity started rushing in each of us in the field. It was a moment that made me realize we are unstoppable. The ball was going all over the field, side to side, in the middle, behind the net and even hitting cars!

After the first quarter, the score was still 0-0. Coach advised us to get the ball to the side of the field for a better game plan...............then, 5 to 7 minutes into the second quarter, Royce kicked the ball…BOOM!! We got a goal!!!!

Everyone was shouting and cheering! We felt in control which lowered our guards and, so, in the last few ticking minutes, our opposing team scored a goal! We were so worried. The game became a 50-50 chance win for us, the only chance we have was in the penalty shoot-out. It started well, but then they started leading by one point. Then a miracle happened. One of their kick-takers missed. The score was 5-5. Then our last kick-taker, James kicked a leading score for us. We were ecstatic! Our joy did not stop there: AIS’ last kick-taker kicked directly towards our goalkeeper, Philippe…and WE WON THE GAME!!!

It was truly another good experience for us as players. We don’t just play to have fun but to learn Discipline, Focus, Teamwork, Perseverance and Sportsmanship.  Values that we can uphold
