Our Classroom
Our colourful classroom is a reflection of our students’ learning. Their works are put up to show how far they have grown as learners. Students feel a sense of ownership and pride when they see their works on the four walls of the classroom.

Silent Reading
Every morning from 7:15 to 7:30, the whole school comes together to participate in this USSR activity, which stands for Uninterrupted Silent Sustained Reading.
The objectives are to emphasize the importance of reading to foster a school community spirit.
Library Activities
Once a fortnight, we take students to the library for library activities. During this time, you will see students borrowing books under the guidance of the teachers. They will be given an opportunity to listen to stories and also to allow them to pick up foundation computer skills.
Physical Activities
Physical Education is an important subject in our curriculum, students enjoy three periods of physical education a week. A typical PE lesson consists of warming up exercises to prepare the muscles for physical work, strengthening exercises, skills development and a game to sharpen students’ competitive spirit.

Speech and Drama
In speech and drama class, the main objective is to develop students’ creativity. Free play and acting out a scene from a chant or a story to use their imagination and explore their body. With this kind of activity, children’s love and enjoyment of poetry is enhanced while promoting literacy development.
Speech and Drama activities provide them with opportunities to express thoughts and feelings by using all their senses. Each class has two periods per week for Speech and Drama.
English
The importance of English language in the development of the academic cannot be over emphasized. Our method is through the modified language experience approach and we start off with a parallel story so that children can use this as a basis to create their own. During the second part, the teacher develops appropriate vocabulary to facilitate story writing. The activity is done in groups and at the end; the class will get the opportunity to present their stories.
Maths
According to Jean Piaget, young learners learn best through dealing with manipulatives.
In our maths lesson, the students use different materials to measure things in the classroom. They use non-standard units as an introductory to measuring.
Music and Movement
As part of the aesthetic education, two music periods is set aside to develop an appreciation for music. A feel of rhythm, understanding of pitch and playing of simple musical instruments are taught in the class as a part of the lesson.
Arts & Crafts
To further develop the aesthetic education, art and craft is a part of the curriculum and children are delighted to express themselves through this art form.

GEMS
The subject GEMS, which stands for Great Explorations In Maths and Science is the gateway to the world of scientific discovery. In this activity, the students experience sorting beans by the property of size. This is a good venue for them to develop their thinking skills and to experience being little explorers.

Religious Studies
In our school, we have the choice to exercise our own faith. We respect each others’ belief for there is no religion above the other religions. P1 students have two periods per week for Religious Studies and it is facilitated by a religion teacher who understands our spiritual needs depending on our religion.

CCAs
Our school is on our way to a paradigm shift. We are gearing towards a holistic education. In lieu of this, the school opens its gate for P1 students to join co-curricular activities of their choice. Most of our primary one kids look forward to their CCA schedule because they enjoy and love what they are doing and the activities start from the premise of the kids.
