I started the P5 Maths Course in our moodle last February, 2011 when I was asked by Mr. Colin to be one of the teachers to start this program for the school. Since then, I consistently uploaded all Papers I gave and used in my P5 Maths classes such as Lesson Notes, A&E Rubrics and/or Guidelines, Practice Sheets, Mental Sums, Worksheets, Topical Reviews, Continual Reviews, Semestral Reviews and Mock Exams.
Lesson Notes, Practice Sheets and the Rubrics can be uploaded even before you discuss or give it to the class so the students can download, print or access it ahead of time, while past Mental Sums, Worksheets, Topical Reviews, Continual Reviews, Semestral Reviews, and Mock Exams can be uploaded after they are given in class so the students can download it to use for Revisions.
I also asked the students to submit some of their assignments such as their A&Es in moodle rather than submitting it to me in hard copies to save papers so we can save trees.
Aside from these, students can also send messages to each other and/or to their teachers if they have questions or if they want their teachers to know their activities in moodle.
They can also start a forum in case they want to have a discussion among each other and/or with their teacher/s.
Lastly, anybody can post announcements and schedules/events to update and inform the students or members who are part of the course.
So, I encourage everybody to be an active participant of moodle to save paper and to communicate more with their students.
